Terms and conditions of use

 

1)      GENERAL

The following terms and conditions apply to and govern all contracts between GDB Trading cc t/a LiteSource (“The Company”) and the “Purchaser”. If the Purchaser has submitted a buying order to us, then by accepting such order the Company undertakes to supply the goods specified in the online order on the terms and conditions set out herein which shall override and exclude any terms and conditions proposed by the Purchaser. The agreement of sale between the Company and the Purchaser is the entire contract and there are no representations, warranties, undertakings or promises of any nature which have been made by the Company, our directors, employees or agents.

2)      ONLINE REGISTRATION
Registration as a purchaser on the website is free and does not oblige you to purchase anything. You must register with us before placing your first order online.

 Registration and/or use of the Company website constitutes your acceptance and agreement to be bound by the terms of the website. To register you will be required to provide certain personal information which is protected by the Company Privacy Policy which is available on as a separate download on the website (

When registering with us you will be required to provide an email address and a password which will be used as your username and password for the website. Please keep your password private as the Company accepts no liability for any damages suffered or losses incurred from the use or misuse of your account.

You will be required to enter your username and password each time you visit the LiteSource website. To amend any registration particulars please click on your name, when logged in, at the top right of the page where you can edit your details. When registering as a purchaser you are required to provide the Company with complete and accurate information about yourself. By doing so you warrant that the information provided is correct. Upon acceptance of your registration, an email confirmation of your registration as a purchaser will be transmitted to you. Transmission times depend on your Internet Service Provider (ISP), but it typically takes less than 10 (ten) minutes to receive the email confirmation. If you do not receive the email confirmation, you should please contact us using the link in the top left of any web page.

3)      PRODUCT IMAGES AND REPRESENTATION
We have made every effort to display the Products on the website as accurately as possible, including:

  • the images that represent a visual depiction of the Product

  • features and descriptions that pertain to the Product;

As the actual colours you see will depend on your computer's monitor LiteSource cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will be accurate. The colour variations may also be due to variations in lighting conditions when the images were taken and/or in variations in the batches received from the various suppliers from time to time.

4)      PRODUCT AVAILABILITY, DELIVERY AND PRICING
The products displayed on the Website are subject to availability and will be delivered within the Republic of South Africa only, within the areas as determined by the Company. It remains the responsibility of the Purchaser to ensure the delivery address, including the suburb and postal code, is correct. Every endeavor will be made to deliver on the promised date but GDB Trading cc will not be liable for the consequences of delivery delays from suppliers and/or delivery companies. All prices displayed on the Website are valid and effective only in the Republic of South Africa for the day that they are viewed The Company reserves the right, without prior notice, to discontinue or change pricing or specifications of products and services offered on this Website without incurring any liability whatsoever.

The Company cannot guarantee availability of stock but will endeavour to source stock where possible to fulfil your order. Where items cannot be delivered we will endeavour to contact the Purchaser based on the information provided at registration, and offer either the option to cancel the order or reduce the quantities, where applicable. If the Company is unable to supply each and every item ordered or in the quantities ordered and cannot contact the Purchaser, the Purchaser nevertheless agrees to accept delivery and make payment for the items correctly delivered.

Purchasers will be charged the prices that are reflected on the Website, subject to availability and save where “Inadvertent and Obvious Errors” have occurred. The prices include Value-Added Tax. Special promotions may be subject to certain conditions, including stock availability and limited-offer stipulations.

5)      INADVERTENT AND OBVIOUS ERRORS
Whilst all precautions are taken by the Company to provide the correct information on the website, in the event that we identify an inadvertent and obvious error in the price, product or service description, images and any other relevant content, the Company is not obliged to provide you with the affected product. The Company will make every effort to contact you to alert you of the error. In such circumstances you are entitled to cancel the purchase and we will provide a full refund for the amount paid.

6)      CANCELLATION & RETURNS
If for any reason you would like to cancel an order this may be done by contacting the LiteSource customer service on (087) 073-5792 or by email at sales@litesource.co.za. Orders can only be cancelled prior to shipping.

If you cancel your payment for any reason, or if your payment method should cease to be valid for whatever reason, you will nevertheless be bound to pay to the full purchase price, including all costs incurred by the Company relating to the recovery thereof. Without prejudice to any other rights or remedies in law, the Company reserves the right to cancel forthwith any sale and/or your registration in the event of your breach any of the terms.

Goods supplied in accordance with the purchaser’s order cannot be accepted for return, without our consent. Any handling or delivery fees charged by our suppliers will be passed on. Fittings that have been installed and subsequently damaged and are not faulty, will not be accepted as returns.

7)      WARRANTEE

We undertake to make good by repair or replacement, defects arising within 6 months from the date of supply of the goods to the original purchaser. Such making good may be claimed by the original purchaser only. The warrantee is subject to the goods having been stored, installed or used with proper care, under conditions for which they were designed and by qualified installers, the goods having been paid for in full. Fittings or components damaged as a result of incorrect installation will not be accepted as returns. Our warrantee for lamps and electronic components is restricted to the warrantee offered by the supplier of these items.

8)      EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein contained, neither we nor any of our officials and employees shall be liable for any loss or damage (including, in particular, loss of profit, penalties and any other consequential damages) suffered by the Purchaser arising from any cause whatsoever in connection with any goods supplied or any work done by us or the use of such goods or work done, whether such loss or damage results, from breach of contract (whether total, fundamental or otherwise), negligence or any other cause and whether the agreement of sale to which these terms and conditions apply is at any time cancelled or not.

9)      FORCE MAJEURE

The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance of any obligation as a result of strikes, lockouts, trade disputes, breakdown of plant, accidents, pandemics or any other cause whatsoever beyond our reasonable control.
